Connected for a lifetime
»To be what we are and to become what we can become is the goal of our life.« (Baruch de Spinoza)

Alumni

According to the word origin, alumni are »nourished ones«. As alma mater, we at Neuroanatomy have enjoyed teaching our graduates and nurturing them with our extensive knowledge. We wish you only the best and much success on your professional path!

Working at the institute gives you the opportunity to get a profound insight into basic biomedical research off the classical medical paths. Under excellent guidance, you get the opportunity to carry out your own projects. Thus, my time at the institute has given me an insight into how findings are made in medicine. By writing a publication, I can also better evaluate current scientific findings for my further professional life in patient care.

Being able to write my doctoral thesis with Steffi was a stroke of luck. She has a high standard, which often challenged me a lot and led to great results. I have always felt supported and appreciated – professionally and personally. Steffi has taught me a lot that will make me a better doctor and person and I am grateful to have a mentor and role model like my »Doctormuddi«.

Hello!

I am Dr. Andrea Schampel and I have been working within the AG Kürten in the field of »Neuroprotection«. Prof. Dr. Kürten is a very dedicated scientist and mentor and always up for a joke. I really enjoyed my time in the AG.

Working at the Institute of Anatomy gave me the opportunity to gain deep insights in the field of neuroimmunology and anatomy. I very much appreciated the excellent supervision of my PhD thesis by Prof. Kürten with her motivating manner and the support within the research group.

I worked very successfully with Prof. Kürten at several locations (Würzburg, Erlangen, Bonn). I value her as an important mentor who has taught me a great deal over the years and to whom I owe a great deal.
Working in the research group with the entire team was very enjoyable. I really enjoyed the research in the field of neuroprotection and working with the students.
